GENERAL MEMBERS.Any licensed funeral director, mortician, or embalmer who is a member in good standing of a state association and whose dues and assessments have been paid to the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Inc.
MEMBERS-AT-LARGE.Where no state association exists, licensed funeral directors, morticians, and embalmers may become Members-at-Large by making written application and paying the required dues and assessments.
SELECTVE MEMBERS AT-LARGE.If a licensed funeral director, mortician and/or embalmer chooses not to associate with their chartered State Association, those individuals may become Selective Members-At-Large of this association b making written application and paying the required dues and assessments directly to the National Headquarters. Such members cannot pursue a national, appointed or elected office or chair a committee.
NON-LICENSED OWNER MEMBERS.Eligibility for membership shall be as follows: a minimum of two (2) licensees all of whom shall be members for NFD&MA within the firm, as well as the non-licensed owner. Privileges for membership is as follows: All licensees will be able to vote on all issues related to business affairs of the association as well as election of officers. They will also be eligible to pursue a national elected or appointed office. The Owner (non-licensed) will pay regular dues plus $150 and will have all rights of membership including the right to vote with the exception of pursuing a National, Appointed or Elected Office or Chairing a Committee.
LIFE MEMBERS.Any General Member or Member-at-Large or Selective Member-At-Large who has given twenty-five years or more of continuous service to the National Association may become a Life Member of the Association upon the recommendation of a state association and by vote of the House of Representatives. Life Members pay dues and assessments as prescribed by the association, as do all members except that the House of Representatives may waive dues in a particular case upon showing an inability to pay.
STUDENT/APPRENTICE ASSOCIATE MEMBERS.Any student enrolled in a qualified school or program of embalming or any apprentice funeral director or embalmer shall apply with his/her state association for membership. If there is no state association, he/she may make written application for Student/Apprentice Associate Membership directly to the National Office.
MORTUARY SCHOOL.This membership is extended to mortuary schools that are accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. This membership includes two (2) licensed staff members. Each additional staff member will be an extra fee.
